By the end of 2008, Simon Mark Whitten will have completed over 300 wedding photography assignments over 8 years and on 4 continents.
Formally trained at the Kent Institute of Art & Design, Simon studied to BA Hons degree level in photography, graphic design, art history and fine art and draws on all of these plus his interest in cinematography and gallery art to produce his own unique perspective and style.
His wedding day photography service can summed up in three words, - beauty, elegance & passion, with an overall style that can best be described as 'Fine Art Narrative Wedding Photography', - that is mainly 'low key' and observational rather than intrusive and directorial. Often referred to as reportage, documentary or wedding photojournalism, Simon adds his own 'twist' to produce something more.
Exquisite albums are offered in conjunction with Queensberry of New Zealand as is a range of elegant wall 'art' from 'fine art' photography to bespoke etchings in a range of stunning frames.
From country houses in England, to castles in Scotland, to marquees in Wales, Simon has photographed weddings in France, Greece, USA, Hong Kong, China & New Zealand.
Although Simon is happy to accept commissions for weddings anywhere in the UK or the world, approximately 50% of the venues that he is booked for are in Yorkshire such as at;
Swinton Park, Rudding Park, Ripley Castle, Harewood House, Fountains Abbey, Allerton Castle, Wood Hall, Goldsborough Hall,
Sutton Park, Middleton Lodge, Swarcliffe Hall, Duncombe Park, Sledmere House, Crathorne Hall, Hazlewood Castle...to name but a few.
